Types of speed control of dc motor

DC motor speed control can be achieved by varying flux, armature voltage. One of the important features of DC motor is that its speed can be controlled with relative ease. Series-Parallel Control Method: This type of the method can be widely used in electric traction, where two or more mechanisms coupled series motors . There are three speed control motor product groups.


Such type of control is impossible in an AC motor.

In speed regulation, the speed of the motor changes naturally whereas in dc motor the speed of the motor changes manually by the operator or by some automatic control device.
