Blower motor wont turn on

The blower fan helps to circulate hot air throughout the home. However, it is prone to different kinds of problems. Diagnosing the problem correctly . Troubleshooting the limit switch on the AFUE gas furnace . The gas furnace would start , flames ignite but the blower would never come on when.

My furnace blower will not start .

A simple thing to check is the air filter.

If the filter looks as gray and grimy as the outside of the furnace, the lack of airflow causes the furnace itself or the blower to shut down. Blower motor problems can cause many driver complaints. Anything from no air circulation to annoying or noisy operation.

It reviews best practices for diagnosing common electrical problems. Turn off the furnace at the circuit breaker.

Depending on the position of this switch (pushed-in or pulled out) the fan may be on manual override - causing the fan motor to run continuously. See MOTOR OVERLOAD RESET SWITCH just to be sure that the air handler blower fan motor has not shut off on thermal overload. A furnace that utilizes forced-hot air is made of the plenum, the furnace blower and the burner.

I go over the low voltage signal wires that tell the furnace to turn the blower fan on, I go over each step from where you should start at to what is left at the end that would be the problem. I replaced the blower motor relay in the air handler unit and the problem was fixed! The current for the fan runs through this relay.

Your starter relay transfers power from your capacitors to your compressor. But if left in that condition the motor will indeed overheat.

I would have suspected the cap but you eliminated that. The only way to get the blower to turn off was to shut off the breaker. If your furnace blower is not moving air, it can just be the capacitor.

Well then this video is for you. This video talks about what to check if you find the blower motor runs when the key is turned off.

This applies mostly to the coolant fan and interior blower. If this is the case, then the first thing you should do is turn off your motor and allow it to cool. Like with many devices that are in motion regularly, the humming could be the . The motor speed wires are connected to these terminals, to allow the furnace to run the blower in different speeds depending on the situation.

Heater fan will not blow air, just suddenly stopped. Fuse is goo fan motor removed and connected to power and works fine.

Re-installed motor , ran direct power to it and runs fine.
