Working of relay circuit

In this tutorial about electrical relays we are just concerned with the fundamental operating principles of “light duty” electromechanical relays we can use in motor control or robotic circuits. Such relays are used in general electrical and electronic control or switching circuits either mounted directly onto PCB boards or . A relay is an electromechanical switch. The first is at the bottom and drives the electromagnet.

In this circuit , a switch is controlling power to the electromagnet.

When the switch is on, the electromagnet is on, and it attracts the armature (blue).

Relay - Explained and animated.

A simple animation that demonstrates how relay circuit works! A video about how electromagnetic relays are connected. They are very useful devices and allow one circuit to switch another one while they are completely separate.

This topic will be covered in greater detail in another lesson. Project for Electrical and Energy Systems. Dayarathne Deyalage Don Sachith Poorna Dayaathne. CALL AN EXPERIENCED PERSON FOR ASSISTANCE.

It also shows the internal workings of the relay. There are hundreds of different relay types. These are found in all sorts of devices.

There is no electrical connection inside the relay between the two . The two coils are used to control the relay. Because the magnetic strip is suspended between the two coils, it is also subject to their magnetic field. She clearly loves to talk about relays. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video.

I fell in love with her and relays too. Principles of relay and circuit breaker operation. With solid-state relays (SSR), there are no contacts and switching is totally electronic. The arm rotates about the central pivot and pushes the contacts together. The relay consists of two circuits.

Here the photo diode is connected in reverse biased condition. In AC circuits , SCR or TRIAC relays inherently switch off at the points of zero load current.
